Plecos split into two groups for most keepers. Bristlenose are the practical choice: they stay around twelve centimetres, they work algae hard, and they breed readily in a home tank. We carry common, super red, marble, calico, peppermint, lemon blue eye and longfin forms in albino and standard colours.

L number plecos are the collector side, catalogued by L code rather than species name. Our range includes L333 king tiger, L340 mega clown, L397 tiger, L168 clown pleco, L052 butterfly and L600 cactus pleco.

Two points. Almost all of these need driftwood in the tank, since they rasp on it and many need the fibre to digest properly. And the common pleco grows past forty centimetres, so it is not a substitute for a bristlenose in a small tank. See shipping and delivery.
